Adaptor for Bass Guitar Amp Circuit Diagram

Adaptor for Bass Guitar Amp . These days, music is a major hobby for the young and not-so-young. Lots of people  enjoy  making  music,  and  more  and  more dream of showing off their talents on stage. But one of the major problems often encountered is the cost of musical equipment. How many amateur music groups sing  through an amp borrowed from a guitarist or bass player?  This is where the technical problems arise not in terms of the .25” (6.3 mm)  jack, but in terms of the sound quality (the words  are barely understandable) and volume (the amp  seems to produce fewer decibels than for a guitar). What’s more, unpredictable feedback may cause damage to the speakers and is very unpleasant on the ear. This cheap little  easy-to-build project can help solve these technical  problems. . Dual Output DC DC Power Supply for AMOLED Displays

This is a dual-output switch mode power supply reference design based on the MAX17116. The part and reference circuit can provide both negative and positive supplies to AMOLED displays. [via]   The MAX17116 includes two current-mode 1.4MHz switch mode power-supply (SMPS) regulators for active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) displays. The positive supply is provided by a step-up regulator with a synchronous rectifier. The negative supply is provided by an inverting regulator with a synchronous rectifier.[ ]

Reverse Lamp Dimmer Circuit for Simulating Sunrise Effect

The post explains a simple automatic mains lamp reverse dimmer circuit which can be used to imitate a sunrise effect. A sunrise simulator lamp is a modified version of a dimmer circuit. 120V AC lamp is connected to a bridge rectifier that supplies DC though there is no functional difference as the lamp is passive and being resistive in nature there is no operational problem. The circuit is made such that the lamp illuminates over a period of 20 minutes. The lamp is connected in series with a N channel MOSFET. Here in this case IRF 640 having a V -DS of 200V and I of 11Amp at 100oC or an IRF 740 having V-DS of 400V and Id of 6.3Amp at 100oC is recommended. However, for a 120V supply IRF 740 is a better choice. A current limiting resistance is employed in series with the lamp. The lamp has a drawing current of 500mA that determines the wattage of the current limiting resistance. LM324 a quad OP-Amp is employed for the multiple stages required to build the circuit. A triang...

INFRARED FLASHING CIRCUIT FOR SECURITY CAMERA

INFRARED (IR) FLASHER CIRCUIT is very much important for security or burglar systems. The Circuit is quite simple and easy to do for your projects. As we discussed in my previous posts IR SWITCHING CIRCUIT, Infrared rays are invisible to human eyes. We can only see it through a camera. Circuit diagram of Infrared flasher Circuit Specifications R1- 150K R2- 1.5K C- 0.01μF Ic 555 timer constitutes the heart of this circuit, it is wired as an ASTABLE MULTIVIBRATOR which will produce a Frequency determined by the RC(R1,R2,C) time constant of the circuit. You can use our 555 Frequency Calculator tool to find the output Frequency of this circuit. The output voltage from pin 3 will drive the IR Led to glow. You can use 2 led's in series to increase the brightness. This circuit can be used as a flasher for security cameras at night.

Dog Whistle for Ronja

Ronja is the author’s dog, a beagle-mongrel,  who seems increasingly often to need to be  called to heel either with a shout or with a  whistle. And so the idea came about for an  electronic dog whistle that could produce  two alternating high-frequency tones. A  design like this has several advantages over  conventional whistles or calling.   Dog Whistle for Ronja Circuit Diagram   You can continue to carry on a conversation with your friends without having to  stop to whistle or call to your dog. Using high frequencies means that  the whistle sound is barely audible to  (especially older) humans and so is less  annoying to other people than conventional whistles or calls. As is well known,  dogs have rather better hearing than  we do and can hear frequencies of up to  40 kHz. The two alternating pitches mean that the  dog can more easily distinguish it from  other whistles.   The dog wh...

Temperature Detector For Fan Controller

The fan controller circuit for the Titan 2000 and other AF heavy-duty power amplifiers, has an output that sets a voltage if the fan controller reaches the end of its range. Since the controller responds to temperature, this signal is seen by the amplifier protection circuitry as an over temperature indication. The disadvantage of this output is that the maximum voltage for the fans is not constant, but depends on the load (number of fans, defective fans) and the mains voltage. This variation is caused by the fact that the supply voltage for the output stage is taken directly from the filtered transformer voltage. If the fans should fail, for example, the maximum temperature limit would lie at a considerably higher level than the desired value. The accompanying circuit, which compares the magnitude of the fan voltage to a fixed reference value, has been developed to allow the maximum temperature to be reliably detected. This circuit is tailored for 12-V fans. The reference voltage is ge...

Extend Timer Range For The 555

Anyone who has designed circuits using the 555 timer chip will, at some time have wished that it could be programmed for longer timing periods. Timing periods greater than a few minutes are difficult to achieve because component leakage currents in large timing capacitors become significant. There is however no reason to opt for a purely digital solution just yet. The circuit shown here uses a 555 timer in the design but nevertheless achieves a timing interval of up to an hour! The trick here is to feed the timing capacitor not with a constant voltage but with a pulsed dc voltage. The pulses are derived from the un smoothed low voltage output of the power supply bridge rectifier. The power supply output is not referenced to earth potential and the pulsing full wave rectified signal is fed to the base of T1 via resistor R1. A 100-Hz square wave signal is produced on the collector of T1 as the transistor switches. The positive half of this waveform charges up the timing capacitor C1 via ...

H bridge Control the Direction of Rotation for DC motor Circuit Diagram

This circuit can control the direction of a DC motor., It has many applications that are necessary to operate a motor in both directions, clockwise and counter-clockwise (forward and backward). One way to accomplish this is to start the engine in a circuit arrangement of transistors called H-bridge. H bridge is an electronic circuit which enables a voltage is applied across a load in either direction. This circuit is often used in robotics and other applications to allow DC motors to become bi-directional. Pump Controller For Solar Hot Water System

This circuit optimises the operation of a solar hot water system. When the water in the solar collector is hotter than the storage tank, the pump runs. The circuit comprises two LM335Z temperature sensors, a comparator and Mosfet. Sensor 1 connects to the solar collector panel while Sensor 2 connects to the hot water panel. Each sensor includes a trimpot to allow adjustment of the output level. In practice, VR1 and VR2 are adjusted so that both Sensor 1 and Sensor 2 have the same output voltage when they are at the same temperature. The Sensor outputs are monitored using comparator IC1. When Sensor 1 produces a higher voltage than Sensor 2, which means that sensor 1 is at a higher temperature, pin 1 of IC1 goes high and drives the gate of Mosfet Q1. This in turn drives the pump motor. IC1 includes hysteresis so that the output does not oscillate when both sensors are producing a similar voltage. Hysteresis comprises the 1MO feedback resistor between output pin 1 and non-inverting input...

Automatic Switch For Audio Power Amplifier

Automatic Switch For Audio Power Amplifier. Circuit of an automatic switch for audio power amplifier stage is presented here. The circuit uses stereo preamplifier output to detect the presence of audio to switch the audio power amplifier on only when audio is present. The circuit thus helps curtail power wastage. IC1 is used as an inverting adder. The input signals from left and right channels are combined to form a common signal for IC2, which is used as an open loop comparator. IC3 (NE556) is a dual timer. Its second section, i.e., IC3(b), is configured as monostable multivibrator. Output of IC3(b) is used to switch the power amplifier on or off through a Darlington pair formed by transistors T1 and T2. IC3(a) is used to trigger the monostable multivibrator whenever an input signal is sensed. Switch For Audio Power Amplifier Circuit Diagram: Under ‘no signal’ condition, pin 3 of IC2 is negative with respect to its pin 2. Hence the output of IC2 is low and as a result output of IC3(a)...

Simple Timer for Very Long Periods

Simple mechanical timers, which you can buy for a couple of pounds in every home improvement centre, are suitable for switching something on and off one or more times per day. They can be used to control a wide variety of devices, such as  lamps inside or outside the house, lighting for bird cages and aquariums, sump pumps, battery chargers, etc.   If you need to control something over a longer period than the standard 24 hours, you can use two timers with the second one plugged  into the first one (see photos). To determine what you can do with this arrangement, you  first need to determine how often the load  needs to be switched. For example, if the  first timer has 48 tabs the shortest ‘on’ time  is 30 minutes in 24 hours. This means that the  second timer will run for 30 minutes every 24 hours, so the maximum duration of a full cycle is 48 days. A device such as a charger for diving torches can be connected to the second timer. To prevent the ‘on’ time of the second timer from e...

Simplest Single Phase Preventor Circuit for Three Phase Motor Potection

For a 3-phase induction motor,Lit is necessary that all the three phases of supply are present while it is on load. When any one of the fuses goes out, or a phase is missing, the motor will continue to run with two phases only, but it will start drawing a huge current for the same load. This high current may ruin the motor, unless switched off immediately. A single phase preventor circuit avoids such a mishap. With this circuit the motor will not run, unless all the three phases are present. In a 3-phase supply, the voltages are 120 degrees apart from each other. Thus the addition of three phases gives zero voltage. lf any one of the phase goes, voltage present at the summing point equals half the line voltage. ‘ In this circuit, the three phases (R, Y, B) are connected to line neutral, which in turn is connected to the ground of the   circuit. When all three phases are present, voltage at point D is zero. So potential at pin 3 of 1C 741 is also zero, but voltage at pin 2 is ne...

12V Car Charger For ASUS Eee Notebook

The ASUS Eee is a fantastic ultra-portable notebook with almost everything required for geeks (and nothing that isn’t). Plus it features fantastic build quality and is very well priced. If you live in New Zealand you can get them from DSE; at the time of writing they are the exclusive supplier. I worked out it’s the same cost as importing one once you include all the duties and tax, plus you get the advantage of a proper NZ-style mains charger. Anyway, being so small I thought it would be nice to be able to carry this around in the car. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a car charger available anywhere at the time so I decided to tackle the problem myself. As a bonus this provides an opportunity for an external high-capacity battery. Commercial Equivalent: I thought at this stage it would be worth noting that a commercial car charger is now available for less than it cost me to build this from Expansys and is available in most countries (select your location on their site). It outputs 9.5v...

Deluxe Charge Rate Limiter for Small Capacity NiCad Batteries

Here is a deluxe version of the simple charge rate limiter, using the same idea but with the ability to charge two packs simultaneously from a single wall charger. For circuit description and parts list, see the simple charger page. Since wall chargers provide about 55mA, you should not use this dual circuit to charge batteries at rates greater than 27mA (for a total of 54mA).

Debugging the Bridge Tips for Successfully Designing Full Half Bridge Circuits

Fig. 1 - A typical high-voltage half-bridge section, using the IR2110 driver (Click image to enlarge)  Fig. 2 - A typical high-voltage full-bridge section, using two IR2110 drivers (Click image to enlarge) Whenever I get a message or an email or a comment regarding unsuccessful bridge circuits, it’s usually along the lines of no output being observed, the MOSFETs getting hot, or everything just getting damaged or blowing up. When I was in the preliminary stages of bridge design, I also had repeated failures. I had circuits blowing up. I had circuits just not working, no matter what. I’ve written on my blog about one such experience of mine. You can read it here: http://www.blogspot.com/2016/10/magic-of-knowledge.html In this article, I’ll talk about the first things you should do if your attempts at designing a bridge circuit have gone up in smoke or if you’re designing a bridge circuit and want to ensure everything has been done properly. Another thing I should mention is ...

CD Player Adapter For Car Circuit Diagram

Whenever I'm in the car listening to my favourite CD, it always happens; my batteries go dead. To solve that problem, I built this extremely simple regulator circuit. It steps down the 12V from the lighter socket to 9V which is used by the CD player. Different CD players (I have a Sony Discman) may require different voltages, so just use the correct regulator. All the 78xx series regulators have the same pin out, so the circuit is universal. 53 dB Stereo Preamplifier for Tape or Phonographs

With the circuit shown in the following schematic diagram, both channels of this stereo preamp is constructed using  RCA CA3052 quad AC amplifier.  this pre-amplifier circuit is featured with tone control (bass – treble). Make a similar circuit to complete the other channel, since the circuit for left and right channel are similar. To be high-fidelity, total harmonic distortion should be kept minimum, this circuit gives less than 0.3% distortion level at  at 1-kHz testing signal with 1-V amplitude.   Gain or amplification at 1 kHz is 47 dB,  and the tone control will curve the response with 11.5-dB boost at 100 Hz and 10 kHz at maximum bass and treble boost.  For minimum bass and treble knob position,  the attenuation will be 10dB  at 100 Hz  and 9dB at 10kHz. This circuit is operated by a single ended supply for wider range environment. Inputs can be from tape recorders pickup or magnetic-cartridge phonographs. 53 dB Stereo Preamplifier...
