Build a Bipolar Power supply for Battery instruments

How to Build a Bipolar Power supply for Battery instruments . A bipolar power supply overcomes those limitations. Most importantly, it can provide both positive and negative voltages from a single pair of terminals. There are no relays to switch polarity, so a bipolar supply can move smoothly from positive, through zero, to negative voltages.   Bipolar Power supply for Battery instruments Circuit Diagram It also regulates zero volts or other very small voltages. In this Bipolar Power supply for Battery instruments circuit diagram to generate regulated ± 5-V supplies from a pair of dry batteries, the circuit of Fig. 1 is commonly used. In order to give protection from inadvertent reverse connection of a battery, a diode in series with each battery would produce an unacceptable voltage drop.  The more effective approach is to fit diodes Dl and D2 as shown in Fig. 2, in parallel with each battery. When the supply is switched off, there is the risk of a reverse bias being ...

Mobile Radio Power Controller MRPC

Before I began the installation of my Yaesu FT-8800 in my car I knew I wanted automatic power ON / OFF. This is a feature that I have always felt was lacking in my other mobile rigs as I am forever leaving my ham radio on long after I have departed the car. Let’s start with an action packed video of the finished product, then we can talk about how we got there. [ ]

Simple UPS Power Supply

This circuit is a simple form of the commercial UPS , the circuit provides a constant regulated 5 Volt output and an unregulated 12 Volt supply. In the event of electrical supply line failure the battery takes over, with no spikes on the regulated supply. This circuit can be adapted for other regulated and unregulated voltages by using different regulators and batteries. For a 15 Volt regulated supply use two 12 Volt batteries in series and a 7815 regulator . There is a lot of flexibility in this circuit. TR1 has a primary matched to the local electrical supply which is 240 Volts in the UK. The secondary winding should be rated at least 12 Volts at 2 amp, but can be higher, for example 15 Volts. FS1 is a slow blow type and protects against short circuits on the output, or indeed a faulty cell in a rechargeable battery. LED 1 will light ONLY when the electricity supply is present, with a power failure the LED will go out and output voltage is maintained by the battery. The circuit bel...

Build a Constant LED Power Supply Circuit Diagram

An LED is usually a series resistor needed to ensure that the LED does not get too much power. The disadvantage of such a resistor is that the current thus also changes by the LED and the brightness as the voltage changes.  This circuit prevents that, by independent of the voltage, a constant current through the LED.The circuit uses two transistors and two resistors. The circuit can be connected to voltages of from 5 to 24 V.   Constant LED Power Supply Circuit Diagram

How to Constructing your own Dual Power Supply Circuits Diagram

Many times the hobbyist desires to have a simple, dual power supply for a project. Existing power supplies may be large either in power output or physical size. a simple Dual Power Supply is necessary. For most non-critical applications the best & simplest choice for a voltage regulator is the 3-terminal type. The three terminals are input, ground & output. The 78xx & 79xx series can provide up to 1A load current & it have on chip circuitry to prevent damage in the event of over heating or excessive current. That is, the chip basically shuts down than blowing out. These regulators are cheap, simple to make use of, & they make it practical to design a method with plenty of P C Bs in which an unregulated supply is brought in & regulation is done locally on each circuit board. This Dual Power Supply project provides a dual power supply. With the appropriate choice of transformer & 3-terminal voltage regulator pairs you can basically build a tiny power supply deli...

200W ATX PC Power Supply Circuit Diagram

This is a 200W ATX PC Power Supply Circuit Diagram. Here I bring you wiring diagram of PCs power supply of DTK company. This power supply has ATX design and 200W performance. I was drawed diagram, when I repaired this power supply.   200W ATX PC Power Supply Circuit Diagram Circuit description This power supply circuit uses chip TL494. Similar circuit is used in the most power supplies with output power about 200W. Device use push-pull transistor circuit with regulation of output voltage. Input part a standby supply Line voltage goes through input filter circuit (C1, R1, T1, C4, T5) to the bridge rectifier. When voltage is switched from 230V to 115V, then rectifier works like a doubler. Varistors Z1 and Z2 have overvoltage protect function on the line input. Thermistor NTCR1 limits input current until capacitors C5 and C6 are charged. R2 and R3 are only for discharge capacitors after disconnecting power supply. When power supply is connected to the line voltage, then at first ...

Power On Indicator

Power On Indicator Circuit diagram. Some types of electronic equipment do  not provide any indication that they are  actually on when they are switched on.  This situation can occur when the back-light of a display is switched off. In addition, the otherwise mandatory mains  power  indicator  is  not  required  with  equipment  that  consumes  less  than  10 watts. As a result, you can easily forget  to switch off such equipment. If you want  to know whether equipment is still drawing power from the mains, or if you want  to have an indication that the equipment  is switched on without having to modify the equipment, this circuit provides a solution.  One way to detect AC power current and  generate a reasonably constant voltage  independent of the load is to connect a  string of diodes wired in reverse parallel in series with one of the AC supply  leads. Here we sele...

Power Saver Circuit Saving electricity

Do you know how to work his usual power saving devices in the market is shaped like a dry battery with a plug into an outlet?. Actually you can create your own tool with much better quality with much cheaper price. Because of the way it works is to reduce the magnitude from cosine curve AC current that will be read on the gauge kilometer. Device work if there is air conditioning load passes through a coil of wire sensors to measure the AC current which is being passed. Power Saver Circuit A very influential component in the AC circuit is a capacitor and inductor. Therefore we need to filter the AC current before it enters our home electricity network. Obviously we did not perform the act of theft of electricity, and this tool will not be detected by the device are as follows . How to installation, Here I would include a scheme of the circuit which will be installed close to the mile. The closer, the more optimal the way it works, use good quality capacitors, for security MCB here, serv...

Sensitive Audio Power Meter Circuit Diagram

As a follow-up to the simple audio power  meter described in [1], the author has developed a more sensitive version. In practice,  you  rarely  use  more  than  1 watt  of  audio  power in a normal living-room environment.  The only time most people use more is at a  party when they want to show how loud their  stereo system is, in which case peaks of more  than 10 W are not uncommon. With this circuit, the dual LED starts to light up  green at around 0.1 watt into 8 ohms (0.2 watt  into 4 ohms). Naturally, this depends on the  specific type of LED that is used.   Circuit diagram: Sensitive Audio Power Meter Circuit Diagram   Here it is  essential to use a low current type. The capacitor is first charged via D1 and then discharged via the green LED. This voltage-doubler effect  increases the sensitivity of the circuit. Above a level of 1 watt, the transistor limits the current thr...
