Temperature Sensor Circuit Diagram

The LM35 temperature sensor provides an output of 10 mV/C for every degree Celsius over 0C. At 20C the output voltage is 20 10 = 200 mV. The circuit consumes 00. The load resistance should not be less than 5 kQ. A 4- to 20-V supply can be used. Temperature Sensor Circuit Diagram

Temperature Controlled Switch

Description It sounds rather mysterious: a switch that is controlled by its ambient temperature. All without the touch of a human hand, except for when you’re building this sort of electronic thermostat. There are a lot of handy uses for a thermally controlled switch. If the temperature inside your PC gets too high sometimes, the circuit can switch on an extra fan. You can also use to switch on an electric heater automatically if the room temperature is too low. There are innumerable potential applications for the thermostat described here. Circuit diagram: There are lots of ways to measure the temperature of an object. One very simple way is to use a semiconductor sensor, such as the National Semiconductor LM35 IC. This sensor is accurate to within 0.5 °C at 25 ºC, and few other sensors can do better or even come close to this level of accuracy. In the circuit described here, the sensor (IC2) generates an output voltage of 10 mV/°C, so the minimum temperature that can be measured is 0...

Temperature Detector For Fan Controller

The fan controller circuit for the Titan 2000 and other AF heavy-duty power amplifiers, has an output that sets a voltage if the fan controller reaches the end of its range. Since the controller responds to temperature, this signal is seen by the amplifier protection circuitry as an over temperature indication. The disadvantage of this output is that the maximum voltage for the fans is not constant, but depends on the load (number of fans, defective fans) and the mains voltage. This variation is caused by the fact that the supply voltage for the output stage is taken directly from the filtered transformer voltage. If the fans should fail, for example, the maximum temperature limit would lie at a considerably higher level than the desired value. The accompanying circuit, which compares the magnitude of the fan voltage to a fixed reference value, has been developed to allow the maximum temperature to be reliably detected. This circuit is tailored for 12-V fans. The reference voltage is ge...

Automatic Temperature Controlled Fan

Here is a circuit through which the speed of a fan can be linearly controlled automatically, depending on the room temperature. The circuit is highly efficient as it uses thyristors for power control. Alternatively, the same circuit can be used for automatic temperature controlled AC power control. Circuit diagram : Automatic Temperature Controlled Fan Circuit Diagram In this circuit, the temperature sensor used is an NTC thermistor, i.e. one having a negative temperature coefficient. The value of thermistor resistance at 25°C is about 1 kilo-ohm. Op-amp A1 essentially works as I to V (current-to-voltage) converter and converts temperature variations into voltage variations. To amplify the change in voltage due to change in temperature, instrumentation amplifier formed by op-amps A2, A3 and A4 is used. Resistor R2 and zener diode D1 combination is used for generating reference voltage as we want to amplify only change in voltage due to the change in temperature. Op-amp μA741 (IC2...

Temperature Sensor Arduino

Hello people, it’s been a while since I have posted projects on this website. This semester was really busy, I didn’t have time to much else, but soon I will have my winter holiday (Here in south our summer holiday is from December to February). Today I am going to show you how to build a simple temperature sensor using one LM35 Precision Temperature Sensor and Arduino, so you can hookup on your future projects. The circuit will send serial information about the temperature so you can use on your computer, change the code as you will. I’m planning to build a temperature sensor with max/min + clock + LCD, and when I get it done, I will post here. Parts: Arduino (You can use other microcontroller, but then you will need to change the code). LM35 Precision Centigrade Temperature Sensor, you can get from any electronic store. Here is the DATA SHEET. BreadBoard Assembling: This is a quick and simple step. Just connect the 5V output from arduino to the 1st pin of the sensor, ground the 3rd...

Simple Temperature Sensing Diodes Selector Circuit Diagam

Low-cost semiconductor diodes such as 1N914, 1N4148 and 1N400X can be used as temperature sensors in applications where high accuracy is not required. They can be mounted on transistors, power diodes, transformers, heat sinks, rechargeable batteries, crystals, PCB, etc to monitor their temperature. It is highly desirable to use temperature sensors with linear temperature characteristics and the mentioned diodes are best suited for that. To use them as temperature sensors, these diodes first need to be sorted according to their temperature coefficient. (Please refer ‘Signal Diode-Based Fire Alarm’ circuit idea published in February 2013 issue to understand how these diodes can be used as temperature sensors.) This circuit can help quickly sort different diodes based on their temperature coefficient. Circuit and working The circuit diagram of the device for selection of temperature-sensing diodes is shown in Fig. 1. The circuit is built around step-down transformer X1, voltage regulator ...
